Get These Jobs Done Before The Festive Season

When you think of the festive period, what do you see yourself doing? Eating lots of yummy treats, snuggling up in front of your favourite Christmas film, and drinking delicious mulled wine and hot chocolate? However you normally spend your December, I bet you don’t envisage it doing any boring old housework and chores!

To make sure that you don’t waste too much time doing loads of stressful work when you should be focusing on getting the Christmas dinner done or some other fun Christmas things, you need to get to work now. Here are some useful jobs that you should do now before the festive season gets here.

Defrost The Freezer

Lots of people pack their freezers full of Christmas dinner ingredients and yummy treats throughout December. Freezing everything ensures that it will last for longer. However, if you haven’t defrosted your freezer in a while, you might run into some problems. First of all, the freezer drawers could become full of ice, and you won’t have much storage space. Not only that, though, but too much frost in the freezer can cause it to not work as efficiently as it should. So, if you haven’t defrosted your freezer in a while, it’s a good idea to do so now before you need to fill it full of Christmas food!

Clean Out Your Gutters

Another job that many people often forget about is cleaning out the gutters on the exterior of their house. If you don’t do this, you will find that you start to get problems with blocked drains outside your home. So, on the next rain-free day you have, you should get a ladder out and take a look in your gutters. If there are any dead leaves or other organic waste in there, be sure to remove it and throw it in the bin so that water can easily flow through all the gutters.

Do Any Decorating That Needs Doing

Are you expecting some annoying relatives to come over to yours on Christmas day? Well, you don’t want them to find anything that they could complain about. And something that a few people love to complain about is bad decorating. So, if you don’t want your Auntie Joan to start complaining about torn wallpaper or splashed paint on the skirting board, it’s a good idea to sort out these little jobs right now. Take a look around your home and see if there are any small decorating jobs that you can sort out in the next couple of weeks.

Get The Dog Groomed

You also don’t want your dog sticking out the whole house over Christmas, so it’s important to get them booked in with the dog groomer right now. You should book an appointment in the next few days before all the slots get booked up. Why not get your pooch a cute Christmas outfit for Christmas as well?

As you can see, there’s plenty for you to do before the Christmas holidays finally gets here!
