Review: LUSH Kitchen Yog Nog Solid Perfume

Evening girls!

Yog Nog is one of my favourite LUSH soaps. It's creamy, spicy and warming. A few weeks before Christmas, the LUSH Kitchen announced that they were going to make it in perfume form. I went for the solid one, as I have enjoyed using LUSH solid perfumes in the past.

The scent itself is very similar to the soap, but it is more sweet and buttery scented. It lingers on my skin for a couple of hours and then I have to reapply it. I find that putting a little in the ends of my hair is effective as it tames and smooths my hair while making me smell loveeeely! The scent lasts a lot longer on my hair than my skin actually. I'm in love with this perfume and the formula of LUSH's solid perfumes in general (although I wish that they still came in stick form!)

Review: Coyo Coconut Milk Yogurt

Coyo is one of my guilty pleasures. It's so thick and rich, with a subtle coconut flavour. It's actually quite good for you though and it's dairy free too.

My favourite is the vanilla flavour (pictured). They certainly aren't shy with the vanilla seeds, it's absolutely gorgeous. The original one is good too but it tends to separate a bit the longer you keep it. The raw chocolate flavour is also divine.

Coyo is available from large Tesco stores here in the UK. I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Review: Sea Kelp for Hair Growth

Hi girlies!

At the time of writing this, my hair is bum length and in healthy condition. I have written about how I keep my hair in good condition in my hair routine post so go ahead and check that out if you want to learn about conditioning your hair.

I have been taking a Sea Kelp supplement for a while now and I feel that I'm ready to give an honest review about how it has improved the health of my hair.

Kelp is algae sourced from the ocean. It is rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium, zinc and iron. It is also a rich source of iodine (which contributes to the maintenance of normal thyroid function). Sea Kelp also contains vitamin A, vitamin K and amino acids.

Amino Acids are important for hair health, in particular L-Lysine which is contained in Sea Kelp. Iron also has a positive impact upon hair growth.

Since taking Sea Kelp, my hair has been growing much quicker. There is a lot less shedding, which I am incredibly impressed with. I am really pleased with this supplement - it has worked a lot better for me than Biotin and Horsetail. I hardly ever shed any hairs since taking this.

Please note that if you're on thyroid medication or have to limit your iodine levels, do not take this supplement. It contains high levels of iodine. Other than that - I would totally recommend taking this as my hair has never felt better.

This supplement is regularly used for weight loss as well as for hair growth so it could be useful for those of you who are looking to slim down a little. (this is because of the iodine which keeps the thyroid in healthy condition, therefore ensuring that your metabolism is in good working order)

Review: The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter

Hi girls!

The Chocomania range at The Body Shop definitely has a love/hate scent. The scent is strong and sweet, it reminds me of the chocolate sauce for ice cream.

The body butter has the usual amazing formula that all The Body Shop butters have. These are pretty much staples for me, I love how thick and creamy they are.

If you're into sweet scents and want a change from the fruity ones, then I'd recommend this one. It makes my skin smell amazing and feel moisturised until my next shower. I think that the chocolate scent is really luxurious and sexy smelling but perhaps that's just me. The Cocoa Butter range has a very similar scent if you're looking for something more subtle.

Review: Loungefly X Hello Kitty

So, I have been using my Loungefly X Hello Kitty bag and purse for around 2 months now so I thought it was time to do a review. The bag came in a drawstring dust bag, my order came really well packaged and quickly too (from

I picked up the Hello Kitty Embossed Monogram Bag in Bubblegum Pink. It's patent and has a large bow charm attached to it. It zips along the top and it has a zip compartment inside as well as some non-zip compartments. It is the large sized bag. I got the purse in a different shade of pink as I thought the pearly pink purse was really cute.

I have been using this bag daily for work, shopping and travelling. It is big enough to fit binders and notepads in, and it's definitely big enough for overnight stays. There has been no damage or wear to the bag whatsoever and I've sat on it, used it as an umbrella and crammed it with stuff all the time.

It's totally okay to wear a pink bag with pink sweatpants..

I would really recommend getting one of these bags if you are considering it. I am planning to get the red one pretty soon, they really are beautiful bags. Also, these bags are vegan - they totally prove that vegan bags can be very durable and pretty too!

My Hair Routine

I thought I'd share my hair routine, since I have long thick hair which requires quite a bit of maintenance. This post will explain how I maintain the condition of my hair. Here are a couple of photos of my hair for reference:

1. In the morning, I spray Aussie Luscious Long Leave-in Conditioner in the ends of my hair and style for the day using any of the following:
  • Aussie Miracle Hairspray
  • Big Sexy Hair Volumising Hairspray
  • Umberto Giannini Backcomb in a Bottle
  • LUSH No Drought Dry Shampoo
  • LUSH Sea Spray Hair Mist

2. I brush my hair through at least three times every day. Long hair tangles so easily. I smooth a few drops of Dr Organic Pure Moroccan Argan Oil through the ends of my hair, giving it some shine and stopping it from tangling so much.

Every Wash (every 2-3 days)
1. I wash my hair with LUSH Honey I Washed My Hair Solid Shampoo. I condition with LUSH Big Solid Conditioner, rinsing with cold water. I towel dry my hair and apply a walnut sized amount of Tony & Guy Volume Plumping Whip to the roots of my hair. I then leave it to dry naturally.

1. I apply a small amount Coconut Oil to the lengths of my hair (when dry) and leave it for a couple of hours. I wash the Coconut Oil out with LUSH Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, making sure that I massage the salt into the hair. I rinse my hair thoroughly with cold water and wrap in a towel, allow to dry naturally.

1. Before bed, I apply Coconut Oil to my scalp and the full length of my hair. I wrap my hair in cling film then go to sleep. In the morning, I follow my usual Every Wash routine.

Review: LUSH Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub

Hi girls!

Rub Rub Rub is one of my favourite LUSH products. I mainly use it to wash my hair though, which may sound weird but it works in a similar way to Big Shampoo as it contains sea salt which helps to give my hair some volume.

As well as fine sea salt, this scrub contains orange flower, fresh organic lemon juice and mimosa. The scent is fresh and uplifting, it's definitely best used in the morning.

Rub Rub Rub is an amazing product and I definitely recommend that you give it a whirl (it will be included in my weekly hair routine post which is coming soon!!)

Review: Bioglan Green Boost Powder

Hi girls!

The Bioglan nutritional powders are essential products for me so I thought I'd do a review on one of my favourites- Green Boost!

The powder contains barleygrass, wheatgrass, spirulina, chlorella, spinach and kale. All of these ingredients do amazing things for the body. For example, spirulina is a great source of protein, B vitamins, vitamin C and vitamin K. Spirulina also contains important minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc.

I stir this powder into my juice every single morning. I have also stirred some in when making homemade 'quest' style bars with nut butter and whey powder. I really feel like this gives me a boost during the day.

Taste-wise, the powder tastes like spinach but the flavour of my juice masks it. I enjoy the flavour of this powder mixed with a green juice such as apple and kiwi.

Other Bioglan powders which are definitely worth a try:

  • Coconut water powder (£17.99)
  • Beetroot powder (£12.99)
  • Supergreens powder in Berry Burst (£19.99)

£££: £12.99 per 100g.

Review: Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara

Hey guyssss!

Welcome to my review of the new Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara. I was attracted to this product as it claims to 'reveal layers and layers of sensational lashes' (plus it comes in cute metallic packaging).

The brush is nice and big, which creates lots of volume in the lashes. It's curved, with synthetic rubbery bristles. The bristles vary in length so you can comb the lashes through well, preventing clumpiness. This mascara gives me a lot of length, which is great - and so far I haven't had it flake on me during the day. Score!
