Review: Cafe Roots @ Etsy

Cafe Roots produce gourmet coffee blends and fine herbal teas. The lovely people at Cafe Roots have given me the opportunity to try some of their products so here's my thoughts!
Upon opening the package, I noticed that on the pack of every packet, there's lots of information about the ingredients and the relevant health benefits of the blends. The first tea that I tried was the Moringa & Lemongrass tea. Upon smelling the bags, it almost smelt like henna to me! I've tried moringa powder before in my food and it does have quite a distinctive scent and taste. When I made it, I let it brew for around 2 minutes. The tea is quite a strong herbal tea with a distinctive taste but the lemongrass does come through much more in taste than in scent which I like. The flavour is actually relatively complex and I'm struggling to describe it but imagine the exact scent of moringa in taste form with the added element of lemongrass. I enjoyed this tea but it's not for newbies to the world of herbal tea. This tea is ideal for you if you're into your teas and fancy trying something new with numerous health benefits such as the possible prevention of numerous ailments due to high levels vitamins and antioxidants in the moringa leaves. It's not for the faint hearted but I will be enjoying this one again in the morning to get me energised for my day.
The second tea that I received is the Hibiscus and Ginger Root variety! This one smells strongly of fresh ginger, not at all like dried ginger which I find so odd! It's hard to pick up the hibiscus in the scent but I've smelt hibiscus a lot before so I can detect a subtle hint of it in there. This tea is such a warming one to drink, I'd imagine that it's perfect for cold winter nights. It might even work as an ice tea with some fruit in there if I'm feeling experimental. If you like ginger then this tea is a must for you as it's a lot stronger than any other ginger teas than I've ever tried. Probably avoid this if you dislike ginger but even my ginger-hating boyfriend thought that this was pleasant so this tea may convert you!

The Masina Blend coffee is my favourite product of the bunch. When I cut this packet open I was literally in heaven. It smells absolutely beautiful. This coffee has the most lovely, rich, creamy vanilla scent. It reminds me of chocolate covered coffee beans. It tasted beautiful too - it's super mellow and satisfying. I am so glad that I tried this coffee and I seriously need to get my hands on some more. Madagascan bourbon vanilla has a really distinctive taste and it's just gorgeous.

The Uhuru Blend coffee is for those of you who like a really intense cup of coffee that has a kick to it. It has a super intensely chocolate scent which I think is because of the addition of tonka bean as this is known to have a vanilla-esque scent. I really enjoyed this cup of coffee, it's definitely a morning coffee rather than mid afternoon drink which when I'd drink the mellow Masina Blend.

I then tried the Moja Upenda Blend which is a more spicy coffee. This one has a distinctive christmassy scent due to the cinnamon. I love autumn/winter coffee drinks in coffee shops as they are spiced like this so I really enjoyed this one. It's lovely with some frothy milk added, it's so comforting and warming. This is a firm favourite of mine.

The scent of the Terranga Blend coffee reminded me of beef burgers which sounds odd but it contains selim pepper and cloves which is probably why it smells like this. I personally didn't like this one but my boyfriend really loved it so I guess that it's love/hate. It's got a strong distinctive taste and it definitely wakes you up.

Do check out Cafe Roots if you're into gourmet teas and coffees. I really enjoyed trying them out - the Masina blend really is to die for along with the Moja Upenda blend and I really loved the teas. It's great how there's so much information on the back of the products and they aren't made with any nasty ingredients.

Review: My Pretty Hang Up @ Etsy

I received a beautiful Hang Up from My Pretty Hang Up @ Etsy today! A Hang Up is basically a cute wall-mounted rack of little knobs which jewellery, scarves etc can be hung on. They are so cute and remind me of going into the Cath Kidston shop. They are made with 1-5 hooks and I have a 5 hook one.
Look how beautiful this is! The pink polka dot border is absolutely adorable and the whole thing has such a lovely weight to it. It's really substantial but not too heavy, the knobs are superb quality and so pretty.

I am absolutely thrilled with my Hang Up! This is going to look beautiful with all my necklaces hung up on it in my pink room. I 100% recommend My Pretty Hang Up if you're after a rack to store your jewellery and/or accessories.

Review: Ahh Lovely @ Etsy

Please see my previous post about Ahh Lovely where I explain about how the decorations are made and how they are packaged.

Today I want to talk about a couple more products from the shop. These are actually examples of the free gifts that Cally includes when she ships orders. They vary from order to order but they're guaranteed to be cute like these ones!
So I received a cute handmade kitty fridge magnet and a solid red glossed hanging heart. The magnet is done with blue gloss and usually costs £2 on her shop which is a steal. I think its so lovely that Cally includes extras with her orders - these are gifts in their own right and it's little decorations like these that make a house feel like a home. The hanging heart is super glossy and it will look gorgeous in my kitchen, so excited to hang this!

Definitely check out Ahh Lovely on Etsy and expect another review of Cally's shop in the near future!

Etsy Shop Feature: Daisy Chain Collective

I have just opened my mail today and I practically tore open my package from Daisy Chain Collective as I was sooo excited! I received a beautiful made to order Mario & Luigi Cross Stitch and I'm so pleased with it. Gemma actually takes custom orders and can make any video game characters that you like! She makes a whole host of different cross-stitches such as Game of Thrones themed ones, Adventure Time etc etc. There really is something for everyone on Daisy Chain Collective!

Apologies for the rubbish lighting today but here it is! The design is so cute and it's stitched super precisely, I bet this took ages to do. I'm really happy with it, it looks adorable in its little frame and I can't wait to put it up. I definitely 100% recommend Daisy Chain Collective @ Etsy for all your cute cross stitch needs. This was made so quickly considering that it's a made to order item and I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out.

Review: Daisy Belle Designs @ Etsy

After searching for a while for some bunting that matches my living room, I came across the lovely Daisy Belle Designs on Etsy. Daisy Belle Designs sells a wide variety of handmade homeware items such as gorgeous tweed memo boards and beautiful hand painted serving trays. Everything sold in this shop is lovingly hand made in Scotland - how cool!

I went for the tweed fabric bunting. The tweed is actually made in a town not too far from where I live which is super interesting. I love supporting British industry so this is such a positive for me.

So after waiting one day (!!) for shipping, I received my bunting and I am over the moon with it! The fabric is lovely and thick and perfectly cut into triangles. The sewing is all precisely done and the cotton that the flags are sewn onto is definitely substantial. It's nice and long as well which is a firm plus.

Daisy Belle Designs actually offers personalised bunting too which is pretty awesome. I would recommend checking out their beautiful hand crafted home decor - I will most certainly be returning so expect another review!

Review: Tessicas @ Etsy

Tessicas is a shop which sells mainly knitting patterns, hand knitted creations or items made using plastic canvas. I came across the page as I was looking for a cute pink tissue box cover to live in the pink room in my new house (as you do!) and I ended up finding a really cute one which is made using pink glittery yarn.

I love pink a bit too much and I knew it would look so cute in our spare room which is decorated all in pink! So I had to have it and here it is.

N'aww I think it's so cute. It's really well made and nicely structured so it doesn't bend and lose form easily - it's actually super sturdy! It's all done so neatly as well, I really want to learn to knit like this, it looks absolutely perfect. There is not one fault in this piece and the glittery pink yarn looks so pretty.

After ordering, this item was shipped to me within a couple of days so you can rely on Tess to get everything dealt with swiftly for you.

Review: Clasicats @ Etsy

I decided it was time to shop for my little kitties on Etsy - and I found the cutest catnip filled toys on a shop called Clasicats! Now, I pondered for a while on the best way to review these and decided that the cats could probably review them better than me...

Here's what the toys looked like before they got their paws on them:

As you can see, they are packaged beautifully with cat washi tape which I immediately peeled off and re-used in my planner. The tissue paper that the toys are wrapped in is so thick too, I will have to use it for something!

I'm very pleased with the cat toys from Clasicats, they are certainly keeping my cats amused and they are so well made and cute. The felted fabric is really hard-wearing and doesn't look like it's going to rip anytime soon.

Review: Ahh Lovely @ Etsy

I recently got the opportunity to work with an Etsy Shop called Ahh Lovely. Ahh Lovely specialises in handmade gifts made from clay. They are made by cutting the initial shape out of wet clay, pressing the designs into the clay using stamps and then smoothing it all off. When the decorations dry, they go through a firing and glazing process which results in a beautifully shiny product. They are finished by adding natural jute twine to hang it in place!

I love that each decoration is handmade so your piece will be slightly unique. It's cool how Cally packages the pieces in boxes made from recycled materials too - being kind to the planet is always good. Speaking of packaging, my order came boxed, bubblewrapped and taped very well on the outside to ensure that everything is watertight and secure.
I chose this decoration as the fox is just so precious. This is made using a red gloss and it has a cute little fox on there with the word Foxy at the bottom! The wording is done using individual rubber stamps which is so crazy - so much work goes into making these beautiful decorations. This decoration is fairly large and will look beautiful in my bathroom which is where I'm planning on hanging it! (£10)
I also chose this little pink button decoration. I am decorating a room pretty much fully pink and thought that this would work perfectly in there. It's made in the colour candy pink and it's actually made in a pretty interesting way. Linen is rolled into the wet clay to leave a textured effect on the button. How cool is that?! This is so cute, it's perfect to give as a gift for a baby girl.. or for someone who loves cute pink things like me! Cally also makes one in blue for baby boys. (£7)

Expect more reviews of Ahh Lovely as I will be working with this shop again over the coming weeks.

Review: One Legged Goose @ Etsy

I stumbled across One Legged Goose on Etsy when looking for a cute waterproof apron to wear when I'm baking, washing up, cleaning and all that other fun stuff which requires me to cover my clothes up!

I decided on this cute floral apron, it's really Cath Kidston-esque and I just fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It's made from an oilcloth material, which is really practical as it just wipes clean when it gets messy. I like to be practical and look cute at the same time though and this definitely ticks those boxes. It's got such a summery feel to it and I know that it will cheer me up when I'm doing housework. It fits really well and is the perfect length.

My apron came packaged in cute tissue paper which was tied up with pretty ribbon. I'm so impressed with the attention to detail that Penelope goes to for her customers.

I'm so happy with the entire experience of shopping on One Legged Goose and I'll certainly be back - her hanging hearts are enticing me!

Review: Sewing Kawaii @ Etsy

Today's review is a special one as I got some plushies handmade from Etsy - aghhh! Katherine from Sewing Kawaii accommodated all my requests and as a result I got some perfect little plushies that I'm in love with.
I started the process off in early July and my custom plushies are already here! I was so surprised by the speed at which Katherine works. So as you can see, the first plushie that I got is a little mochi (which I incidentally love to eat at Yo! Sushi). I chose what colour I wanted her and the little expression on her face. I love how she has blushing cheeks, it's subtle yet so so cute. This really is perfectly made, I can't fault it whatsoever. It's so precise and it's stuffed just how I like it.
The second one that I got is a little onigiri sushi plushie. Her shop gives you the ability to customise the colour of the bottom part and I got purple. This one is stuffed to my liking too, there's enough in there that it keeps its shape but not too much that it's too stiff.

I encourage you to check out Sewing Kawaii on Etsy. I can't express enough how pleased I am with the whole experience, she kept me updated every step of the way and the results are so beautiful - they're what I was expecting and so much more. The plushies are so inexpensive as well, where else can you get a custom handmade plushie of this quality for under five pounds?! It's pretty amazing. Katherine posts pictures of her work on Instagram too so definitely go ahead and follow her.

Would You Rather Beauty TAG!

1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up?
OMG - messy hair and nice makeup obv. I rock the messy hair look pretty much daily so this isn't anything new for me.

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

I would probably rather shave my eyebrows. I could just draw them on and it would beat having to apply falsies everyday (even though they look cute)

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
We don't have Sephora in the UK but I'd definitely choose a department store like Sephora because department stores have a tonne of brands - and most of the time they have MAC anyways.

4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?
Lipgloss and lipliner, it's not even that bad if you put on some really pigmented lipgloss and really subtle lipliner!

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Overdone blush as I pretty much do that everyday anyway.. mwahaha.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
MC Hammer pants because at least I'd be comfortable!

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
Weird tan lines because orange-y spray tan is scary looking and tan lines remind me of going on holiday which is good.

8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
A bad hair colour because I could just dye over it - but a bad hair cut could take ages to grow out and I like my hair long.

9.Would you rather have YouTube or Twitter taken away forever?
Twitter as I don't use it. Well that was an easy one.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
Make up brushes. Mascara is an essential for me - like I need it.. but lots of makeup can be applied with fingers.

Review: Bahari Blossom @ Etsy

I had yet to delve into the beauty area of Etsy until I tried out Bahari Blossom. I decided on a lip balm as my lips are constantly cracked and peeling no matter what I use on them!
Cocoa butter is prominent in the formulation of this lip balm which is evident when using it as you kinda have to wait for your fingers to melt the lip balm when you want to get some product out. The cocoa butter also means that it's really nourishing on the lips and the moisture sinks in rather than sitting in a layer on the surface of your lips. The cherry scent is lovely as well, I don't usually go for cherry scented things but this isn't too artificial smelling - it's just nice and sweet.

Review: Kurage No Hone @ Etsy

The lovely Kit from Kurage No Hone on Etsy was kind enough to send me some of her gorgeous acrylic charms. They are completely waterproof and scratch resistant, Kit hand assembles them after laser printing the cute designs onto the acrylic.
I got a set of three dragons which are my favourites. How cute are these little guys? They are literally so precious and so thick and sturdy. I have already gone ahead and attached the red guy to my keys and they instantly look at least 99.9% cooler.

They came packaged attached to a folded gift card type of contraption - Kit explained that this can be used if the charms are being given as a gift and she provides a service where she writes the card then sends it off to the recipient herself (n'awww) If you're into cute little charms like these then definitely head on over to Kurage No Hone.

Review: Designs to a Tee @ Etsy

I recently made an order for some hair ties and a card from Designs to a Tee on Etsy. Tanya was kind enough to also include some of her button earrings for me to review which are new to her shop!
I went for the metallic rainbow hair ties and a cute little card as it's my brother's birthday soon (hopefully he doesn't read this or he'll see his card)! Tanya makes the most beautiful cards actually so I spied the opportunity to grab a cute one. She customised the colour of it for me as I asked for blue and the one in the listing was rose gold. Tanya actually sells really beautiful Disney themed cards but my brother probably wouldn't have appreciated that one but it's my birthday in September so I might slip Tanya's business card in a few people's drawers around that time (hehe!)

The hair ties are nice and stretchy - I'm impressed with the quality of both of these items and the card is lovely and thick. The front of the card is cut out lovely and precisely as you can see - I'm impressed!
These are the button earrings that I got! Aaaw how sweet are these?! The glue is visible when you do a close up but when they're actually worn then you can't see any of that obviously because it's clear. I actually appreciate the extra glue as it means that they're secured nice and tightly

Definitely check out Designs to a Tee on Etsy. Tanya also uses Instagram <3

Little Update About My Blog!

As you will see, I've been doing lots of Etsy Shop features and reviews recently. I'm extremely passionate about promoting small businesses and helping them to get out there! So as soon as my blog got enough exposure I decided that I was ready to help people to do that. There will be beauty related posts upcoming too so don't worry - I have a little backlog of reviews to write so once that's done I will change it up a bit.

I hope that you guys find my Etsy Shop reviews interesting though, I love seeing other people's finds from Etsy and I personally think that it can be confusing on what to choose on there as there are so many shops and tonnes of competition.

Sooo, yeah! I hope that you like the direction that my blog is going in as promoting small businesses has always been one of my things. I love all cuteness whether they are from a small or big business of course, but big ones often don't need the exposure!

Hope you're all well and enjoying summer

Review: Dazzling Gleam Shop @ Etsy

I have to preface this review with... AAAAAWW! Prepare to be dazzled with cuteness in this post about Dazzling Gleam Shop. I received my order this morning, packaged so pretty in a tupperware decorated with the shop's name with little hearts and stars around it. This packaging is pretty unique, I've never received an order packed up like this before and it's a fab idea as it ensures that nothing will get crushed during delivery. (I can also reuse the cute container, muahaha!)
The first item that I received is a large pink cross stitched bow necklace. I'm so pleased with the size of this - sometimes when I order things they are tiny in person, but nope this is nice and big. It's done really precisely as well - it's so cute. The chain is great quality too.

I also got a rainbow gradient charm bracelet. On there we have little Hello Kitty charms, Barbie shoes, a little lemonade can... and of course an ADORABLE Umbreon figure. An authentic Tomy figure at that! I am over the moon with this bracelet, what's not to love?!
Sticking with the Eevolutions theme, I got an Eevee choker which is adorable and fits so well on my neck (definitely wearing this to Comic Con tomorrow!) I got this large antique bronze key necklace with an eye cabochon set in the centre of it. This is nostalgic for me as I always used to wear this Topshop ring with an eye on it... literally constantly - so it kinda took me back to that period before it went all coppery and gross. It's so creepy I loovee it!

Definitely check out Dazzling Gleam Shop if you're into kawaii accessories and jewellery, you won't be disappointed.

Review: Rah Rah Crafts @ Etsy

I received my order from Rah Rah Crafts today and I am totally blown away by how beautifully made the bracelets are! Sarah surprised me with one of them which was a custom bracelet. I just told her that I love pink and cute things and as I'd already ordered one Pokemon bracelet I guess she put two and two together and made me a JIGGLYPUFF bracelet - aaaaaww!!
These are so precious and precisely crafted. I am ridiculously pleased with them and let out a little cry of joy when I opened them up. They have a little woven loop fastening in the back which is lovely and secure.
I also ordered a pink woven bracelet and a berry coloured woven anklet. I love wearing anklets in summer, they look so cute with rolled up black jeans and some cute canvas shoes. Or when I'm chilling in my bikini and flip flops! Although I'm going to be sad going in the pool with this one as I don't want to ruin it.. I usually just wear cheap ones from souvenir shops when I go abroad but this one is gorgeous. It's nice and comfy and isn't itchy whatsoever - I hate itchy things and this is definitely not itchy.

Please check out Rah Rah Crafts on Etsy, Sarah does custom orders!

Review: Bobblelicious @ Etsy

As you may have guessed from the title of this post, I am reviewing a lovely little shop which sells hair accessories called Bobblelicious! This Etsy shop sells the most beautiful hand sewn hair ties and clips - I seriously don't know how she manages to sew them so accurately. This lady is so talented!
So I got a little guinea pig hair clip, a cute ice cream bobble and a felt flower hair clip. I love how the actual hairbands are matched in colour to their decoration as lots of places don't do this. The felt flower has a fabric covered alligator clip on the back so it won't snag your hair at all. They are just so beautifully made - I am actually gobsmacked by how neat they are.
I also chose a glittery watermelon bobble which is attached to a beautiful mermaid-esque hair tie. And of course, if there was cupcakes on offer I couldn't possibly decline. How cute is this?! These hair accessories are so beautifully decorated - I am thoroughly pleased with my order, everything is so well made! Christine actually gives you the option of having them on bobbles or hair clips so you get your order customised according to what you like.

Bobblelicious also sell cute little Disney Princess themed crown hair accessories which caught my eye but I wasn't sure if I'd get away with them at my age (when does that usually bother me?! I should have just ordered them!!)

Check out Bobblelicious on Etsy and Facebook.

Review: Molax Chopa Arts @ Etsy

I found Molax Chopa Arts on Etsy while searching for cute planner stickers and couldn't resist. This Etsy shop sells lots of different items like stickers, seals and gift tags. Some lovely pink stickers caught my eye (I really need to control my obsession with pink!)
All the stickers that I receive have a pearlescent finish which I think is sooo cute. It reminds me of mermaid scales! So I have some hot pink scalloped circles, some pink hearts and 2 larger pink stickers which you can write on and use as envelope seals and the like. I'm planning to use them to label containers or little drawers, they're way more cute than regular labels so why not!

Shipping was super quick and my order was packaged beautifully.

Review: Lil Kawaii Mermaid @ Etsy

My order arrived today from the lovely Lil Kawaii Mermaid on Etsy! This shop mainly sells decoden compact mirrors and phone cases. It also sells hair bows and little charms. So my order arrived today in pretty packaging, and it's just lovely.
These are my lovely items. They're kitty themed because I loove cats! The cat on the bow looks like a ginger version of grumpy cat - aww! Seriously these are so cyoote, the mirror is really great quality too, it has a magnetic closure which is cool. The alligator clip on the back of the bow is lovely and sturdy which is worth noting.

Definitely check out Lil Kawaii Mermaid if you like cute little decoden creations. I'm pleased with my items and I'm sure you will be too!

Review: Tutti Vintage @ Etsy

Tutti Vintage is a shop on Etsy which sells the cutest vintage ornaments and other homeware items. I literally want everything on there!

I received a cute little package today from the lovely Lydia from Tutti Vintage. It was without doubt the most beautifully packaged order I have ever received!

The box was wrapped in pink pineapple print paper with cute floral stickers on there. Inside, the items were bubblewrapped then packaged in candy striped bags with more floral stickers. Lydia also included the cutest little thank you card and a pack of 3 Tutti Vintage stickers with a little kitty and some deer on there. The stickers are amazing quality and so glossy! I want to stress how securely these things were packaged, Lydia sells fragile items and makes sure to wrap them properly.

So after I got over how beautifully the order was packaged, I opened up my items! Again, I am blown away by how cute they are. The first thing that I got was a vintage cat ornament with a little mouse. The kitty has little wire whiskers and both critters are painted perfectly.
The ornaments are in very good condition considering that they're vintage! They are going to look beautiful in my new house. I also got a little floral trinket box which is so dainty and gorgeous. I'm planning to store hair grips in there when I move house - it's literally so precious and in amazing condition. I looove the gold trim!
